While the Springboks players entertain the guests, you can take care of keeping their stomachs full. The match between the Springboks and the All Blacks will take place at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, and it is the third test match out of four in the tour named 'The Greatest Rugby Rivalry.'
During this day, there will also be a women's team meeting: the Springbok Women team against the New Zealand women's team, known as the Black Ferns, which starts at 13:30. This will be the first encounter between these two women's teams in South Africa. The main event starts at 17:10.
If you cannot attend the stadium but will be cheering for the teams from the couch, we have prepared excellent snack ideas to make the time off the field just as fun!
Simple Meat and Cheese Platter
Arrange slices of prosciutto and salami next to Brie and aged cheddar cheeses. Fill the empty spaces with grapes, nuts, fig jam, and a selection of crackers. This requires minimal preparation but gives guests many options for snacking during the match. You can also adapt this platter based on what you already have in your refrigerator, making it a practical option when entertaining a large number of people.
Mini Pizzas
Cut ready-made puff pastry into one-bite sized pieces, spread each with tomato sauce, and sprinkle with grated mozzarella and your favorite pizza toppings. Salami, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, or leftover fried chicken work well. Bake until the dough is fluffy and golden, and the cheese is bubbly.
Chicken fajitas take only 15 minutes to prepare if cooked in an air fryer.

Crispy Smashed Potatoes
Potato Ingredients:
500g new potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Sauce Ingredients:
½ cup plain Greek yogurt or mayonnaise
1 clove of garlic, finely grated
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and black pepper to taste
Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water for 15–20 minutes or until soft when pierced with a fork.
Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 220°C.
Place the potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using the bottom of a glass or a potato masher, gently flatten each potato to give it a flat appearance, trying not to break it completely.
Drizzle with olive oil and season with garlic powder, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper.
Bake for 25–35 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
While the potatoes are baking, prepare the sauce by mixing the Greek yogurt or mayonnaise with the grated garlic and lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Garnish the crispy potatoes with fresh parsley and serve hot with the creamy garlic sauce.
