Representatives of Fergana Region and Kam Air Discuss Launch of New International Flight

In Uzbekistan, representatives of the Fergana Region held negotiations with a delegation from the Afghan airline Kam Air regarding the prospects of establishing a new international airline based in Fergana.

Meeting Details

The Governor of the Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, met with a group led by Omar Mohammad Suleiman, CEO of Kam Air. Timur Khalilov, head of the Commercial Department of Uzbekistan Airports JSC, also participated in the meeting.

These discussions continued the agreements reached during the visit of the Fergana Region delegation to Afghanistan on July 26–27, 2026, which was dedicated to expanding trade, economic, and investment ties. At the last meeting, participants reviewed the progress of implementing these agreements and discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in civil aviation.

Key Points of the Negotiations

The central topic of the negotiations was the initiative to launch a new international airline in Fergana. The parties exchanged views on operational possibilities, infrastructure requirements, and ground handling organization. Preliminary technical and regulatory conditions necessary for advancing this initiative toward implementation were also discussed.

Participants emphasized the importance of involving relevant aviation authorities and specialists, noting that all stages of project planning must comply with international standards. At the conclusion of the negotiations, both sides agreed on further steps and defined priority areas for continued interaction in the aviation sector.
