August proved to be a very successful month for companies manufacturing electric two-wheeled vehicles. With the exception of Ola Electric, all other companies demonstrated sales growth compared to the same period last year. TVS Motor became the leader in the segment. TVS Motor sold the largest number of electric vehicles in August, totaling 48,873 units. The company's sales grew by 91% compared to August of last year, and its market share reached 27%. In August 2025, the company sold 25,546 units. Nevertheless, compared to July, TVS sales decreased by 12%, as 55,823 electric two-wheeled vehicles were sold in July. The iCub model contributed the most to the company's sales, followed by Orbiter.
Bajaj Auto was in second place, selling 41,019 units in August. Its sales increased by 235% compared to last year, whereas Bajaj Auto sold only 12,246 electric vehicles in August of last year. The company's market share is 22%. Bajaj's sales also decreased in August compared to July.
Ather Energy took third place among the players. The company sold 28,708 vehicles in August, showing a year-on-year growth of 49%. However, compared to July, the company's sales decreased by 6%; in July, Ather sold 30,636 scooters.
Hero Vida holds fourth place. 18,978 Vida units were sold in August; the company's year-on-year growth was 38%. At the same time, sales decreased by 17% compared to July, when 22,989 units were sold. Ola Electric is the only player whose sales declined year-on-year.
In August, Ola sold 13,849 electric two-wheeled vehicles. Greaves E-Mobility registered 8,612 units in August, which is 89% more than 4,567 units last year. River Mobility's sales also show improvement: in August, the company sold 5,134 units, showing a year-on-year growth of 170%.
Additionally, Bigass Auto sold 4,844 units with a year-on-year growth of 180%. Simple Energy sold 1,635 units with a year-on-year growth of 122%, while Motovolt Mobility sold 1,365 units with an impressive growth of 509%. Recently, Ather released its Konark models, and Simple released the Wave scooter.
