De Wever emphasized that the Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Union (EU) has provided stability to both sides against coercion and disruptions.
Speaking on the situation, De Wever noted: 'Ladies and gentlemen, today more and more voices are calling for raising barriers, for closing markets, for introducing tariffs. Some do this completely arbitrarily. They decide something on Monday, cancel it on Wednesday, and reinstate it on Saturday. You all know who I am talking about. I am not going to name names, but you know these people are doing it arbitrarily, without any economic logic' — he stated, without naming Trump.
During his visit to Mumbai, De Wever participated in the High-Level Dialogue between India and Belgium on the Free Trade Agreement between India and the EU. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal stated that the Free Trade Agreement between India and the EU is mutually beneficial for all. Maharashtra Governor Devendra Fadnavis noted that the agreement between India and the EU will fundamentally change relations between India and the EU, and Maharashtra should be an example of implementing this agreement.
