When asked about the events at the end, including Espí's disallowed goal and Mbappé's penalty miss, the Portuguese coach refused to discuss the referees' controversial decisions. He noted: 'Honestly, I don't know why we lost. We created many chances, missed three or four, and their goalkeeper also made three or four exceptional saves.' Mourinho concluded: 'I have nothing to reproach my players for. Perhaps we deserved to win, but winning doesn't bring points.'
