The floods, which happened on August 26th, caused significant destruction, and videos of sudden floods began appearing on social media, showing strong water currents and people trying to save their homes and belongings. These footage caused concern not only among adults but also among Vaishnavi herself.
Initially, Vaishnavi planned to spend the accumulated money on herself for her birthday. But she realized that there were many people in Nepal who needed help right now, not for themselves, but for rebuilding their lives. This realization fundamentally changed her plans for the celebration.
Her birthday fell on a Friday, which was also Janmashtami. Although the house had a festive atmosphere, the purpose of opening the piggy bank became different. Vaishnavi decided to use the collected funds to help the flood victims in Nepal. She was motivated by a simple thought: when so many people are in distress, it is better to help those in need than to spend money on personal desires.
When this child's initiative became known, Dinesh Chandra Yadav, an MP from the JDU party in Madhepura, visited her home. He congratulated Vaishnavi on her birthday and added his own money to her piggy bank. The MP highly praised the girl's decision, noting that her choice to help the flood victims in Nepal is an example for society.
The most touching aspect of this story is that Vaishnavi did not claim to perform any grand act. She made a small decision within her small world.
