China calls on the US to cooperate to ensure stable trade relations

A spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gao Jiakun, stated on Friday that China and the United States must work together to implement important agreements reached by the heads of state, as well as maintain the pace of stable development of bilateral economic and trade ties.

These statements were made by Gao Jiakun in response to comments from US Trade Delegation representative Jameson Green regarding these relations.

According to media reports, Jameson Green expressed optimism about the stability of relations between the US and China on Thursday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Wednesday, after meeting with the US Ambassador to China David Perdue in Beijing, that China and the United States must faithfully implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and remove obstacles to high-level interaction between the two nations.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China and the US are working to build constructive relationships of strategic stability, according to a press release from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on Thursday.

He added that improving and developing relations between China and the US, striving for peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect, and achieving mutually beneficial cooperation meet the fundamental interests of both peoples and align with the common expectations of the international community.

Wang emphasized that relations between China and the US still face various risks and challenges. He advised both sides to focus on a positive agenda, manage differences appropriately, and overcome barriers to high-level meetings to promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of bilateral relations.

Perdue reported that the heads of state provided important strategic directives for US-China relations, noting that President Donald Trump's visit to China in May was successful.

He stated that the United States is ready to strengthen communication with China, advance cooperation, and prepare for the next stage of important high-level meetings, adding that both sides intend to build constructive relationships of strategic stability based on mutual respect and equality.

Furthermore, Perdue conveyed condolences from the US regarding the casualties resulting from a landslide near the Guyrong border port in Sichuan Autonomous Region in southwestern China.
