Skoda has released a second batch of its premium sedan in the Indian market—the Skoda Octavia RS. The initial release of this model consisted of only 100 units, which were completely sold out even before the official start of sales.
The company has now introduced a second batch, which will be available in a quantity of 50 cars. Furthermore, the price of the vehicle was increased for this second release. The Skoda Octavia RS is now offered at a price of 56.69 lakh rupees, including export duties, whereas the first batch cost 49.99 lakh rupees, representing an increase of 6.69 lakh rupees.
Delivery of these 50 units is scheduled for next week. The car is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, the EA888 from the Volkswagen Group, which is also used in the Golf GTI. This engine is capable of producing 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque, and it uses a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The Octavia RS is a front-wheel-drive model. The manufacturer claims that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. The RS variant includes a sports suspension, progressive steering, an enhanced chassis, and a sport exhaust system.
The interior features black upholstery and offers electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, as well as heating and massage functions. The cabin is equipped with ambient lighting and a 10.25-inch digital driver display. Additionally, a 13-inch multimedia system integrated into the cabin supports wireless connections for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with three-zone climate control and an 11-speaker audio system.
Safety in the car is ensured by ten airbags, as well as features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera with a Head-Up Display.
