Political competition has intensified in the state of Uttar Pradesh regarding public educational institutions. The Socialist Party is preparing to use Teacher's Day to criticize the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
The Socialist student organization has announced a campaign that will run from September 5th to September 11th. This campaign will be called 'Chhatra, Naujawan evam PDA Jaagrukta Abhiyan' (Students, Youth and PDA Awareness Campaign). As part of this event, the student organization will hold an 'Pathshala Pukare' (School Calls) action.
During the action, formal events honoring teachers will be organized in front of closed primary and secondary schools in the region. Furthermore, student conferences and teacher appreciation ceremonies will take place in universities and colleges to mark Teacher's Day. The celebration of Teacher's Day will also occur in accessible locations near the territories of closed primary and secondary schools, involving local officials, activists, and villagers.
According to the SP, this initiative will draw attention to the issues of closed schools and the rural education system.
The Socialist student organization's campaign is scheduled from September 5th to September 11th. On September 7th, an event for planting PDA trees and distributing leaflets is planned. On September 8th, contact with students will be made through camps in universities and colleges. On September 9th, students will be invited to express their opinions and resolve their problems, as well as fill out declarations. On September 10th, a seminar dedicated to the role of students and youth in politics will be held. The campaign will conclude on September 11th with an award ceremony for outstanding students.
The SP's campaign program includes numerous issues, among which are: leakage of examination materials, unified curricula, increase in tuition fees, employment and reservation, alleged corruption in university and college appointments, transparency of reservation, free education, rotation system, digital devices, establishment of libraries and new universities and colleges.
