According to data from the maritime analytical company Kpler, the volume of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz significantly decreased on August 31. Only five confirmed transits were recorded that day, representing a 50 percent drop compared to the ten transits observed previously.
Four vessels entered the Persian Gulf, and one left it, using routes agreed upon with Iran, Oman, and other arrangements. Furthermore, two of these transits were conducted by shadow vessels, and one was a sanctioned vessel.
Kpler specified that the figures provided are preliminary, as additional 'dark' transits may be discovered as new confirming data becomes available.
Activity in the Bab el-Mandeb area was characterized by relative stability. Thirty-five confirmed transits were registered, which is 2.9 percent higher compared to the previous day. Nineteen vessels headed to the Red Sea, and sixteen exited it. No dark transits were recorded in this area, and the International Maritime Organization confirmed the absence of any additional attacks.
