The design team presented a proposal that opposes the concept of 'non-place,' transforming the Doutor Leite Lopes State Airport into a dynamic urban component connected to the population of Ribeirão Preto.
The use of Glued Laminated Timber (Glulam) structure was chosen to reduce carbon emissions and create a link with the agro-industrial identity of the region. Thus, the transport infrastructure is converted into a place of reception and coexistence for the community.
