Catfish Mistaken for Shark Found in Basement in Fergana Region of Uzbekistan

A pool containing Siamese sharks was discovered in the basement of an apartment building in Fergana. The resident not only illegally occupied common property but also made an unauthorized connection to utility networks.

Employees of the Housing and Communal Services Control Inspectorate recorded the violation during an inspection in the 'Muruvvat' mahalla. Inspectors found that the apartment owner had blocked off part of the basement and organized the supply of water to a large container.

Protocols were issued to the citizen regarding administrative offenses related to unauthorized use of common property and unjustified consumption of drinking water (according to Part 1 of Article 163 of the Code of Administrative Liability). The violator was fined, and an order was issued requiring the dismantling of the pool, vacating the premises, and restoring the basement to its original condition within fifteen days.

It was also noted that Siamese sharks are freshwater fish that received the name 'shark' due to their body shape, but they are not true sharks. The Inspectorate emphasized that the use of basement premises and other common areas of apartment buildings must strictly comply with legislative requirements.
