Nearly 16 million artificial structures built in India over two years to replenish groundwater

The Ministry of Jal Shakti reported that since the launch of the 'Jal Sansad Jan Bhagidari' campaign for rainwater harvesting and groundwater replenishment under community leadership, which began in September 2024, nearly 16 million artificial structures have been constructed in the country to replenish groundwater.

These structures were built as part of the 'Jal Sansad Jan Bhagidari' campaign, which is the ministry's flagship initiative for water resource conservation.
