Sesc Vila Mariana, located in São Paulo, is promoting the second edition of the Piscine – Cinema in the Pool Festival, which will take place from September 5th to 7th. The program is completely free and includes animations, national shorts, and films intended for adult audiences, featuring well-known titles such as Finding Nemo and Shark.
The festival uses the facility's pool, offering participants the freedom to watch sessions both in and out of the water. During the three days, films with various age ratings will be shown, covering dubbed and subtitled options.
For those who choose to watch the films in the pool, it is mandatory to wear swimwear and carry a valid dermatological examination. If the participant does not have the document, they must arrive at Sesc at least one hour in advance to undergo the examination. Accredited individuals who already possess a valid examination are exempt from this procedure. For the public without a Full Credential, a collective examination will be conducted, valid only for that specific day.
It is advisable for attendees to bring a padlock to ensure the security of their belongings in the changing rooms. Access to the pool is permitted 30 minutes before each session, using the changing rooms located in the second basement of Tower B.
Those who prefer to watch the screenings out of the water do not need swimwear or to present a dermatological examination. Entry for this modality occurs 30 minutes before the start of the session, through the access ramp to the pool, located in the Events Square. In this scenario, the spectator must remain in the designated audience area and will not be allowed into the water.
Throughout the three days, the pool will be reserved exclusively for Piscine, and remaining on site after the end of each session will not be permitted.
Although participation is free, it is essential that tickets be booked in advance on the official Sesc website. Ticket collection will begin at 2 PM on September 4th. For sessions aimed at children, up to four tickets per person can be collected; for other films, the limit is two tickets per individual. Before making a choice, it is recommended to check the age rating, duration, and whether the session will be dubbed or subtitled.
The program includes screenings such as 'Ponyo: A Life from the Sea' (dubbed and free), National Shorts sessions (free), 'Undine' (subtitled and 14+), 'The Chronology of Water' (subtitled and 18+), 'Finding Nemo' (dubbed and free), 'Marine Life with Steve Zissou' (subtitled and 14+), and 'Shark' (dubbed and 14+).
