The Iranian House of Books and Literature is participating in the 27th Baghdad International Book Fair as the representative of Iran, showcasing a wide range of Iranian works and holding specialized cultural events.
The fair, which opened in Iraq on September 2, has gathered over 600 publishers from 28 countries and will run until September 12, according to the IRNA agency.
At the opening ceremony, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi stated that this event serves as confirmation that Baghdad remains a center of culture, illuminating thought and preserving the written word.
At the exhibition, the Iranian House of Books and Literature presents 1150 works. The Iranian pavilion includes books on Iranian history and art, literature, children's and youth themes, women's studies, psychology, resistance, jurisprudence (Fiqh), exquisite Qurans, Persian language learning, tourism, and Iranianology. This collection aims to present a multifaceted image of Iran's cultural and intellectual potential to the Arabic-speaking audience.
Furthermore, a session titled 'Cultural Relations between Iran and Iraq from the Perspective of Martyr Khamenei' will take place in one of the halls of the Baghdad Book Fair. This session will feature three Iraqi scholars and university professors along with one Iranian intellectual. They will examine various aspects of cultural, historical, and civilizational ties between Iran and Iraq, and offer opinions on the joint possibilities of the two nations based on the views of the Martyr of the Ummah, Ayatollah Khamenei.
Following the coordinated attack by the US and Israel on February 28 targeting key national sites in Iran, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, became a martyr.
The martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei was not just the loss of a political figure but also the departure of a spiritual mentor whose life was entirely dedicated to the pursuit of justice and the liberation of the oppressed. This ultimate sacrifice, arising from a conflict fueled by imperialist ambitions, has left an indelible mark on the collective soul of the Iranian people and the entire Muslim world, transforming a moment of deep sorrow into an impetus for renewed resistance and resilience.
Iran's presence at the Baghdad Book Fair, given the deep cultural and civilizational ties between the two states, may contribute to the wider penetration of Iranian works into the Iraqi book market and the development of cultural and publishing cooperation between the two countries.
Publishers from Iran, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Turkey, and Palestine are participating in the 27th Baghdad International Book Fair.
