In July 2026, central banks worldwide collectively acquired 23 tons of gold. Among the main buyers of the precious metal were China, which purchased 20 tons, and Poland, which increased its reserves by 8 tons.
Parallel to the purchases, several states acted as sellers. For example, Russia exported 6 tons of gold during this month. The Central Bank of Uzbekistan, along with regulators from Turkey and Jordan, were also among the selling countries, each selling one ton.
Since the beginning of the current year, net gold purchases by global regulators have reached approximately 130 tons. It is worth noting that for a similar period in 2025, the volume of such purchases was about 160 tons.
