The Children's Ombudsman conducted a monitoring study of the temporary detention isolation unit of the Angren City Internal Affairs Department, located in Tashkent region. During the inspection, no minors were present at this institution.
As part of the inspection, the conditions for housing minors in cells were examined in detail. The organization of nutrition, the condition of sleeping places, compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, and the procedure for providing medical care were assessed. The institution is designed to accommodate 51 people, and a separate cell is provided for minors.
Based on the results of the inspection, it was established that the basic conditions meet the established minimum standards. Nevertheless, certain shortcomings were found.
In particular, it was noted that the supply of medicines in the medical office needs replenishment, medical staff must be ensured, and the set of bed linen needs updating. A need for updating the library's book fund and allocating a special room for minors to meet with their relatives was also recorded.
Based on the monitoring results, the Children's Ombudsman sent recommendations to the institution's management aimed at ensuring the rights of minors.
