Royal Enfield has released its new Himalayan 440 motorcycle. This model will be sold alongside the existing Himalayan, but its design is significantly different from the previous version. Many users missed the design of the old 411 model, and the company took this feedback into account.
The engine for this model was sourced from the Royal Enfield Scram 440, and the overall design of the motorcycle is largely inspired by the Scram 440. Nevertheless, the Himalayan 440 differs from the Scram 440 in color palette, wheels, and suspension settings.
Through the Himalayan 440, Royal Enfield aims to appeal to both fans of the Himalayan 411 and users looking for a more affordable alternative to the Himalayan 450. The motorcycle is equipped with an engine producing 24.4 hp and 34 Nm of torque, along with a six-speed transmission.
The motorcycle shares several components with the Scram 440. It features a 15-liter fuel tank, and the braking system includes a 300mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc. Dual-channel ABS is standard, though the company has provided the option to disable rear ABS.
The Himalayan 440 is fitted with a new dual-section instrument cluster. The speedometer is located on the left, and on the right is a triper that supports Google Maps navigation. Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with an LED headlight.
The Himalayan 440 is available in colors different from the Scram 440: Mustang Brown, Nela White, and Cela Black. The price of this motorcycle is 2.29 lakh rupees, including export duties in Chennai. Orders for this model started today, and consumers can place a reservation on the official company website or at dealership centers. Shipments are expected to begin soon.
