According to Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umersakov, DP World plans to start the construction of a multimodal logistics terminal in Tashkent in October 2026. The total investment in this project will amount to 288 million US dollars.
This complex will be implemented near the capital and will provide modern logistics infrastructure for residents of the Yangi Avlod special industrial zone. The terminal will include a container railway terminal, a cargo terminal, a customs post, and warehouse facilities.
The total area of the project will be 82.3 hectares, with the warehouse complex occupying 226,500 square meters. Additionally, ancillary logistics services provided by third-party operators will be available.
The railway terminal is designed to handle 150,000 TEUs, while the road terminal can serve up to 55,000 trucks. The customs infrastructure will include a customs office and a vehicle storage area. The main goal of the project is to provide enterprises in the special industrial zone with a modern logistics base and form a more efficient supply system.
According to the data presented, the facility's estimated throughput capacity will reach 120 million tons of cargo and 150,000 containers. The project aims to accelerate logistics processes, increase supply chain efficiency, and create conditions for expanding production localization.
The joint venture DP World Tashkent Freight Terminal (DPW Tashkent JV JSC) was established with the participation of Uzbek and Emirati parties. Tashkent Invest Company owns a 15% stake, while DP World holds an 85% share. The total investment in the project is set at 288 million US dollars.
The head of DP World sent an invitation to the President of Uzbekistan for the foundation-laying ceremony of the future terminal. The agreement on establishing the joint venture for the development and operation of the multimodal terminal was signed by DP World and Tashkent Invest, a subsidiary of the Tashkent city administration, in October 2025.
DP World is involved in port and integrated logistics infrastructure projects. The group manages over 60 port terminals, industrial parks, logistics centers, and other facilities with a total capacity exceeding 90 million TEUs.
