Two Cars Expected to Launch in September: Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift and Renault Triber Turbo

2026 may be a year of price increases in the automotive sector, as many companies consistently raise the cost of their vehicles every one or two months. Another price hike is expected from two companies in September.

Tata Motors and Hyundai have announced price increases for their vehicles. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki had already raised prices on its models by 30 thousand rupees in August. The price increase for Tata Motors and Hyundai vehicles will take effect on September 1st.

Starting in September, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Limited cars will become more expensive by up to 25 thousand rupees. This increase will affect both internal combustion engine models and electric vehicles, starting from September 1, 2026. The company attributes this change to the need to account for the overall value proposition.

According to Tata Motors, the reason for the price increase is the continuous rise in production costs. The brand notes that a significant portion of the increased costs lies with the company itself. This is the third price increase by the company in 2026; previously, the price was increased by 0.5% on April 1st, and by 1.5% on July 1st for electric vehicles and internal combustion engine cars.

For its part, Hyundai Motor India has also announced a price increase for its vehicles, which will happen on September 1, 2026. The price increase will be 1%. The company's portfolio includes models such as Grand i10 Nios, i20, Exter, Venue, Creta, Verna, and Alcazar.

Both companies announced the price hikes shortly before the start of the festive season. Regarding Hyundai, cars priced up to 1 million rupees will increase by 10 thousand rupees, and models priced up to 2 million rupees will increase by 20 thousand rupees. Hyundai also cites the increase in production costs as the reason for this increase.

JWS MG Motor is preparing to launch a new vehicle in the Indian market. Tomorrow, August 26th, the company plans to introduce its new electric SUV. This model will directly compete with seven-seater vehicles from Tata Mahindra. Currently, it is an electric version.

The vehicle under discussion is the MG Hector Hawk EV. It promises a claimed range of over 500 kilometers. Although the company has not officially confirmed the model's name, there is speculation that it will be named Hector. Details about this SUV are emerging.

The new MG SUV, debuting on August 26th, will be the company's first model based on the ADAPT platform, specifically developed for new energy vehicles. This model will feature a three-row configuration and will be larger than the existing Hector.

Although the official name MG Hector Hawk has not been confirmed, this model is generating the most interest. Its price in the export segment is speculated to range from 22 to 26 million rupees. However, the final pricing policy will be revealed on August 26th. Despite using the Hector name, this vehicle will be significantly different from the current Hector model.

This new car will be based on the Wuling Starlight 560, which is designed for the global market. It will have a length of 4.7 meters. Considering its size and seating configuration, this model will compete with the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV 7Xo.

Tata is also working on the Safari EV, and Mahindra's portfolio includes the XEV 9S—a seven-seater electric SUV. This model may be equipped with a 69 kWh battery, providing a claimed range of 530 kilometers, although information regarding the battery type for the Indian market has not yet been confirmed.

For an electric vehicle, charging speed is as important as the battery itself. The advantage of a large battery is only realized with fast-charging capability. MG has not yet disclosed information about its vehicle's charging speed. All these details will become known tomorrow. This model will be the brand's third electric vehicle after the MG Comet and MG Windsor.

BMW has expanded its lineup in the Indian market by releasing a new version of the X1. This model, named X1 Long Wheelbase (X1 LWB), is equipped with numerous features, offers more cabin space, and is available with a new gasoline engine.

The vehicle will be available alongside the standard X1 and the electric iX1 version. Furthermore, the price of the X1 LWB is lower: by 1 lakh rupees compared to the standard variant and by 1.5 lakh rupees compared to the electric variant.

The BMW X1 LWB was introduced at a price of 49.90 lakh rupees for the showroom price. This model is aimed at buyers who wish to purchase a luxurious SUV with ample interior space. The manufacturer's main focus is on the comfort of rear passengers.

Visually, the car is distinguished by the use of chrome along the window line, which gives it a distinct look. Additionally, silver inserts are applied to the doors and the rear bumper. It retains the same LED headlights and taillights as the standard X1.

The length of the X1 Long Wheelbase is 4616 mm, which is 116 mm longer than the standard version. The wheelbase has increased by 108 mm, reaching 2800 mm. Thanks to this extra space, the length of the rear seat has increased, ensuring an enhanced level of comfort.

The SUV is equipped with 18-inch wheels. Four color options are available: Mineral White, Carbon Black, Night Dusk Blue, and Skyscraper Grey. The most noticeable changes concern the rear passenger seat: it features an additional 15mm of cushioning, and there is also an extra 109 mm of legroom provided.

Features include a curved display, a fixed glass roof, wireless charging, power seats, and folding rear seats. The trunk volume is 540 liters, which can be increased to 1700 liters. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 154 hp and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It is important to note that the 2.0-liter diesel engine, available in the standard version, is absent in this long-wheelbase model.
