Health intelligence company Ultrahuman, based in Bengaluru, successfully secured $70 million in funding from several investors, including Qualcomm Ventures, Labcorp, Alpha Wave, Blume Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, and Alteria.
Ultrahuman stated that this newly acquired capital will be allocated to broadening research and development efforts across areas such as sensing, artificial intelligence (AI), miniature electronics, and health algorithms. Furthermore, the funds will support increased investment in clinical science and large-scale research initiatives.
The company indicated that this financial injection signifies the next stage in its transformation—moving from a wearable health technology provider to a human-computer interface company specifically focused on the human body.
Ultrahuman's methodology centers on creating sensing technologies positioned near the body to capture ongoing signals, which are then correlated with more profound biological data. The company intends to leverage increasingly advanced models, trained using real-world scientific data, to convert these raw signals into actionable health insights.
Mohit Kumar, the Founder and CEO of Ultrahuman, commented on this direction, stating: “For the longest time, computers have understood almost everything about the world except the person using them. We want to change that. We are building an interface that can understand the body continuously and translate its signals into intelligence that is useful in everyday life.”
The startup's primary offering is the Ultrahuman Ring, which integrates support from blood biomarkers, continuous glucose monitoring, environmental sensing, and an evolving software, AI, and research framework. Ultrahuman emphasized that these integrated systems are engineered to establish a comprehensive, longitudinal perspective on human physiology, rather than viewing health merely as a compilation of isolated measurements.
The company maintains the belief that body-based and wearable computing could evolve into a significant computing platform within the coming decade. These devices would continuously monitor signals pertaining to sleep, metabolic health, cardiovascular function, hormonal patterns, blood biomarkers, recovery status, and the surrounding environment, aiming to generate insights that assist individuals in better managing and comprehending their health.
