In Match 25 of the 2026 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots defeated the Saint Lucia Kings with a score of 137 runs.
The Sri Lankan team was the hero of the victory, and Dasun Shanka was the key figure. He scored 121 runs without getting out in just 43 balls, including 12 sixes and 8 fours. Thanks to an incredible strike rate of 281.40, he helped the team reach a total of 235/4.
Shanka completed his century in only 39 balls, setting the fastest century in CPL history. Previously, the fastest century in the tournament was recorded by three players: Andre Russell, Tim Seifert, and Shimaron Hetmyer, who shared this record.
By achieving this milestone, Dasun Shanka equaled his personal record, as he had previously scored a century off 39 balls in local Sri Lankan T20 matches, making him the second player to achieve this feat in T20 format.
From the start of the game, Shanka demonstrated an aggressive approach, constantly hitting powerful shots against the Saint Lucia bowlers. This innings was the fourth century of his T20 career, and the 34-year-old all-rounder once again showcased his power-hitting abilities.
The Saint Lucia Kings team, which was chasing a big score, failed to realize its potential. The Patriots bowlers restricted the entire team to only 98 runs, securing the victory.
