Disney+ service is back up on Samsung TVs after user-reported failures

The issue faced by Disney+ users has been resolved, and the streaming service has returned to functionality on Samsung televisions approximately 24 hours after a large volume of complaints. Disney confirmed the normalization of the service to Tecnoblog, and tests conducted by the outlet also indicated that Disney+ was operating normally.

With the fix, the warning message 'This application is not compatible with your TV' stopped being displayed when customers tried to access the platform. Although the exact cause of the failure remains unknown, Tecnoblog investigated with market specialists and concluded that the problem occurred on Disney's end, not Samsung's.

The instability generated significant repercussion on social media and resulted in numerous complaints registered on Reclame Aqui during Wednesday, September 2nd. Users of various Samsung television models, including Samsung RU7100, Samsung QLED Q60, Samsung OLED S90C, and Samsung Q70T, reported suddenly losing access to the Disney+ application on their devices.

There was no prior communication about the discontinuation of support for the Disney+ application on Samsung TVs, nor were problems recorded in a comparable volume with televisions from other brands or competing streaming services, which raised suspicion of a technical failure.

Tecnoblog managed to replicate the error on a Samsung RU7100 TV the day before, but the problem did not persist the following day. However, it was clarified that the Disney+ application needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled. Therefore, for those still facing difficulties, reinstalling the application may be the solution.

On Wednesday, Tecnoblog requested clarification from Disney+ without an immediate response. However, after insistence, Disney informed that the problem had been solved, although it did not provide detailed explanations or issue a press release.

Despite Disney's confirmation, reports from users still facing the issue were found on platforms such as X and Reclame Aqui. Given this, Tecnoblog emphasizes that reinstalling the Disney+ application may resolve access difficulties for those who are still having problems.

Tecnoblog also contacted Samsung but has not received any feedback yet, keeping the line of communication open.
