While work trucks in Brazil, such as the Fiat Strada Endurance and Volkswagen Saveiro Robust, are characterized by the absence of adornments like steel wheels and unpainted bumpers, Ram has adopted the opposite approach in the United States, charging for aesthetic elements.
The manufacturer introduced the Night Edition package for the 2027 Chassis Cab line, which refers to the commercial cab-chassis pickup sold without a bed so that it can receive implements such as platforms, winches, or service bodies.
This set is entirely aesthetic, consisting of replacing chrome details with dark parts, and its cost can reach US$ 2,195, equivalent to approximately R$ 11,330.
The exclusivity of this package lies with the consumer public, since commercial vehicle buyers rarely opt for visual packages, and the accessories market generally ignores them.
Matt VanDyke, Global President of Ram, justified this initiative by arguing that these customers use the trucks to their maximum capacity daily, which is why the brand decided to offer the same cosmetic treatment present on the Ram 1500.
The official presentation of the package will take place at the 2026 Farm Progress Show, an agricultural fair held in Boone, Iowa.
The package is available on the 3500, 4500, and 5500 models, both with single and double cabs, and in the Big Horn and Laramie versions.
In the Big Horn version, the package includes black painted wheels, darkened emblems, high-gloss black grille air intakes, and a Sport Performance hood. Additionally, the grille surround, front bumper, fender flares, and door handles are painted in the body color, and front and rear parking sensors are added.
The Laramie version already comes equipped with sensors and body-colored components; therefore, the package in this version is limited to darkened wheels, black emblems, high-gloss black grille intakes and fins, and the Sport Performance hood, resulting in a lower price: US$ 1,695, or about R$ 8,750. In the case of the Big Horn, the US$ 2,195 value applies when Level 1 or Level 2 equipment packages are selected.
There are no mechanical changes under the hood. Available engines include the 6.4 Hemi V8, which generates 380 hp and 59.2 kgfm, always paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the 6.7 Cummins inline six-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which produces 365 hp and 110.6 kgfm of torque, justifying the towing capacity of these pickups.
Orders will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the first units should be delivered this year. It is important to note that the Chassis Cab line is not sold in Brazil.
