However, no rain was recorded at the Safdarjung and Ridge meteorological stations during this period, indicating an uneven pattern of precipitation on Thursday.
Analyzing data from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, it was found that no rain was recorded in Safdarjung, Lodi Road, Ridge, and Ayangar; only brief drizzle was noted in Palm. On Thursday, the minimum temperature in Safdarjung reached 27 degrees Celsius, which is 1.4 degrees above normal. Various temperature readings were observed at other weather centers.
In Palm, the maximum temperature was 32.4 degrees Celsius, which is 1.7 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature there was 24.2 degrees Celsius, which is 1.2 degrees below normal. In Lodi Road, the maximum temperature reached 33.8 degrees Celsius, exceeding the norm by 0.8 degrees, while the minimum temperature was 26.4 degrees Celsius, which is 1.4 degrees above normal.
At the Ridge meteorological station, the maximum temperature was 33.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.2 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 22.8 degrees Celsius, which is 1.4 degrees below normal. In Ayangar, the maximum temperature was 33.2 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees below normal, and the minimum temperature was 26.2 degrees Celsius, which is 1.5 degrees above normal.
Following the light rain in some areas on Thursday, more intense rain is now forecast for Delhi on Friday and Saturday. According to the IMD, the sky may remain cloudy on both days, accompanied by moderate precipitation. The meteorological service has issued a yellow warning for Friday and Saturday, so attention will be focused on the weather on these days. It is expected that the impact of the rain on Friday and Saturday will be stronger than on Thursday.
Despite the change in weather, the air quality in Delhi on Thursday was in a satisfactory category. At 4:00 PM, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was 74, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). According to CPCB classification, an AQI from 0 to 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 is satisfactory, 101 to 200 is moderate, 201 to 300 is poor, 301 to 400 is very poor, and 401 to 500 is hazardous.
Since the AQI on Thursday was 74, the air was classified as satisfactory.
