According to space weather forecasts, powerful M-class flares are expected on the Sun on September 3 and 4, 2026, which occupy the second-to-last position on the scale of stellar explosion intensity.
Specialists from the Russian Institute of Applied Geophysics reported that despite the overall forecast of low flare activity during the specified period, there is a possibility of individual M-class flares appearing.
It is predicted that the geomagnetic field will remain generally calm, although temporary periods of instability may arise. According to experts, the radiation situation in the coming days should not cause concern.
Nevertheless, specialists warn of a potential deterioration in the quality of shortwave radio communication during certain hours of the day.
