The state of Chhattisgarh has become a leader among states in the campaigns of the Ministry of Water Resources (Jal Shakti ministry) aimed at engaging the public in rainwater harvesting and replenishing groundwater reserves.
Five districts of this state—Surajpur, Mahasamund, Balod, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, and Kabirdham—have also entered the top ten districts in the country for water resource conservation.
