AMD and Delhi University Collaborate to Train 10 Thousand Students in Artificial Intelligence

Semiconductor industry giant AMD and the University of Delhi have announced a partnership aimed at training approximately 10,000 students in artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor technologies over the next year.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two parties, AMD will provide the university with its 'AI Engage Developer Program.' According to the company, this initiative is designed to equip the next generation of professionals with skills demanded by the industry.

Jaya Jagadish, Country Head and VP of Engineering for AMD India, noted: 'India possesses the talent and ambition to lead the next wave of AI innovation. There is now an opportunity to give students early access to platforms and tools that enable real-world AI development.'

She added that this collaboration aims to help students transition from studying theoretical concepts to creating practical AI-based solutions.

The program will give students and faculty practical access to AMD's open-source ROCm AI software platform, learning materials, and cloud credits for GPU developers. This will allow participants to create, test, and deploy AI applications using industry-grade tools.

Students and faculty will gain access to AMD's AI curriculum, technical workshops, open-source ecosystems, and GPU cloud resources for practical experiments.

Professor Yogesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi, stated that 'this collaboration reflects the industry's growing emphasis on preparing graduates with practical AI skills that go beyond classroom learning. By combining academic education with access to modern AI computing platforms, AMD and the University of Delhi will help create a stronger pipeline of AI developers and researchers to support India's expanding digital economy.'
