Time Out Market will open in Conjunto Nacional, an iconic building in São Paulo, in 2027

Time Out Market, a gastronomic center concept established in Lisbon in 2014, will debut in Latin America at the prestigious Conjunto Nacional, an architectural landmark located in the center of Avenida Paulista.

Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027, the operation will occupy a 3,250 m² area on the ground floor of the building, revitalizing a space that has been vacant for a decade. This initiative is led by Time Out Market Brazil, under the management of executive Benjamin Ramalho, and was realized through a strategic partnership with Nomad.

Conjunto Nacional, originally conceived in the 1950s by David Libeskind, was a pioneer in the mixed-use model, integrating residential, commercial, and office functions, while also promoting interaction with urban life. The renovation of the site is being supervised by the firm Levisky Arquitetos Estratégia Urbana, preserving original structural elements, such as concrete pillars and beams, visible as part of São Paulo's architectural heritage.

The São Paulo unit will feature a global novelty: it will be the first Time Out Market to have its kitchens located in the middle of the main hall. This layout arrangement allows the entire glazed perimeter to be open to the public, ensuring abundant natural light and privileged views of the tree canopies of Alameda Santos, the movement of Rua Augusta, and the dynamism of Avenida Paulista.

The interior design was meticulously planned to generate diverse atmospheres, simulating the feeling of walking through the city itself, inspired by the urban design around Praça da República. In addition to traditional communal tables, the area will offer more private spaces, lounges, corporate sectors, and areas suitable for contemplation.

With an estimated capacity for approximately 750 people, the market will host 19 gastronomic kiosks (ranging from 13 m² to 37 m²), three bars, a studio kitchen, and a multifunctional area designated for events, workshops, fairs, and chef collaborations.

In São Paulo, the curation of restaurants and new talents is managed by a panel of specialists, led by Mauricio Schuartz, who acts as food producer and curator, alongside the Time Out team and other industry professionals. The goal is to concentrate the culinary diversity of the capital into one roof, bringing together establishments ranging from renowned venues to emerging figures in the local scene, offering options that span from authentic Brazilian cuisine to Italian, Japanese, Arab, and other traditions.

After more than ten years in Lisbon, Time Out Market transformed the concept of a food court by combining the curation of journalists and food critics. Currently, the network is present in major cities such as New York, Dubai, Lisbon, Porto, Barcelona, Montreal, Osaka, and Cape Town.

The choice of Avenida Paulista, a corridor through which more than 1.5 million people pass daily, reinforces the space's intention to establish itself as an accessible and essential meeting point for both São Paulo residents and visitors to the largest South American metropolis.
