The fintech-focused private equity fund Beams Fintech Fund spearheaded a round of equity investment worth INR 215 crore in Business Nextgen Finance Private Limited (BNF). BNF is a modern non-banking financial company specializing in secured lending to micro, small, and medium enterprises.
Major investors such as Baring Private Equity India, Saison Capital Pte Ltd, and Unleash also participated in this round, alongside other participants. As a result of the deal, Beams Fintech Fund and its affiliates will collectively hold over 26 percent of BNF's fully diluted paid-up equity capital, positioning the fund as a significant institutional partner for BNF's future growth. The transaction received preliminary approval from the Reserve Bank of India.
Sagar Agarwal, founder and managing partner of Beams Fintech Fund, noted that the significant credit gap in India's underserved SME segment presents an attractive opportunity for a differentiated lender with strong underwriting, technology, and customer focus. He added that the fund expects to support the company in its next phase of development, as it believes BNF is well-positioned to build a scalable and sustainable platform.
These investments mark the seventh deal for Beams and add BNF to the fund's growing portfolio of financial services and fintech companies. The investment strengthens BNF's capital base, enabling it to expand its technology-driven secured lending platform, reach underserved SME markets, and improve access to formal credit for small businesses across India.
The company, founded by Pankaj Poddar, received its RBI registration certificate in September 2025 and has since focused on building a differentiated lending institution based on disciplined underwriting and digital infrastructure. Pankaj Poddar, promoter, Managing Director, and CEO of Business Nextgen Finance, stated that the raised capital will accelerate growth while maintaining a firm commitment to strong governance, sustainable profitability, and long-term value creation for all stakeholders.
The deal involves no changes to BNF's management or day-to-day control. Pankaj Poddar will continue to serve as Promoter, Managing Director, and CEO, guiding the company's strategic and operational growth. Business Nextgen Finance, supported by a strong consortium of institutional investors with deep expertise in financial services, fintech, and venture capital, announced its readiness to accelerate the next stage of expansion and become a reliable lending partner for India's underserved SME ecosystem.
