Amidst the rumors about Rohit, BCCI Secretary Devadjit Saikia publicly stated that Rohit is still in the team. Reports suggest that this statement displeased the selectors, leading to disagreements between them and the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar. This dispute makes the upcoming meeting even more important, as it may discuss not only player plans but also the future of the selection committee itself.

The situation with chief selector Ajit Agarkar is also unclear. He hoped to extend his tenure until the 2027 World Cup, but now the BCCI may reconsider his future. A report claims that the possibility of bringing in VVS Laxman, head of the Centre of Excellence, to replace him is also being discussed. Thus, one of the key agenda items for the meeting could be the leadership of the selection committee.

In the case of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, it is unlikely that any major decision will be made soon. Both remain valuable options for India, but when planning the team for the 2027 World Cup, selectors will certainly consider their roles. In Kohli's case, his experience is a big plus for the team, while Jadeja's versatility offers another option. Furthermore, selectors will want to ensure that their potential successors are ready in time.

India's main task, considering the 2027 World Cup, is to find the right balance between experience and young players. If senior players are retained in the team, then backup players must also be prepared for them.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) Member of Parliament from Sivasaena highly praised the activities of Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the latter significantly surpassed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. These remarks by Raut were made against the backdrop of increased political activity in Maharashtra on several different issues.

Raut met with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday at 10 Janpath in Delhi. Following this meeting, Raut published a joint photo with Rahul on the social network X.

In his post, Sanjay Raut wrote that during the meeting at 10 Janpath in Delhi, they discussed in detail the events taking place in Maharashtra and across the country. He concluded that after the conversation, it became evident that Rahul had 'left behind Modi, Shah, and everyone else.'

Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress are part of the opposition alliance and play an important role in Maharashtra's politics. Raut had previously also expressed admiration for Rahul Gandhi, calling him a major national leader.

Raut recalled that Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of the hunger strike by Adivasi students in Pune, who had been on strike for about twenty days. According to Raut, if Rahul Gandhi had not brought up this topic, attention would not have been paid to the protesting students. It was thanks to this movement that two Adivasi girls approached Rahul Gandhi, and then the whole country learned about the difficult situation of indigenous children in Maharashtra.

He emphasized that it is extremely shameful that tribal children face such conditions in a state like Maharashtra. Raut noted that Rahul Gandhi specifically raised this issue, and also expressed concern about scholarships, payment, and dormitory living conditions. He stated that the responsibility for solving these problems lies with the Devendra Fadnavis government, and questioned what was wrong with Rahul Gandhi, a major national leader, for raising such topics.

A video recording has emerged that has caused widespread resonance in the political life of the country and the state of Uttar Pradesh: the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh, Satish Mahan, was seen leaving his post midway through the national anthem performance. This situation provoked criticism from SPA chief Akhilesh Yadav, who criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chief Minister Yogi.

Akhilesh Yadav posted on X, condemning the chairman's action as disrespect to the national anthem, stating: 'Modi-Yogi, tell us what actions are being taken against our legislative assembly chairman?' The video, which showed Mahan interrupting the anthem, was filmed during a Guard of Honour ceremony in Unnao. As of now, no official statement has been issued by the BJP regarding this matter.

The Congress party also joined the criticism of this video. In a post by the Indian National Congress (INC) in Uttar Pradesh, it was noted: 'Those who preach patriotism to others themselves cannot respect the national anthem? Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Chairman Satish Mahan left the national anthem performance midway during a Guard of Honour ceremony in Unnao. Does a person holding a constitutional post not have time to stay for 52 seconds? Look at this... this is the true face of the BJP lobby and patriotism!'

It should be noted that a dispute is currently brewing over the national anthem 'Vande Mataram'. On one hand, the Congress insists on singing two verses of this anthem, while the BJP accuses the Congress of trying to 'fragment' the national anthem, linking this to appeasement politics. The entire conflict began during the flag hoisting ceremony at the Congress office when the entire 'Vande Mataram' anthem was playing, and Congress leaders Malikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi expressed disagreement with continuing the singing after two paragraphs.

The political opposition used Mahan's video incident as an opportunity to criticize the Yogi government and the central government. BJP leaders called this situation an insult to the national anthem. The discussion intensified after the video surfaced showing Kharge and Sonia Gandhi signaling the cessation of the anthem performance. The BJP stated that the Congress hates this anthem and that they always engage in appeasement politics. Currently, the video featuring Satish Mahan has given the opposition a chance to put pressure on the Uttar Pradesh government and the federal government.
