The players' dissatisfaction stems from the fact that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made significant changes to the team composition following a humiliating defeat of 194 runs in the second Test against England at Lord's. This loss was almost decisive for the series, depriving the team of any hope of victory.
One of the players, outraged by this decision, boycotted the meeting with King Charles. According to the report, this step was an expression of protest against the PCB's working methods with the players. Furthermore, the players were clearly told that they were obliged to attend this meeting regardless.
According to The Telegraph, among the seven excluded players, Muhammad Avis Zafar, Amir Jamal, Khurram Shahzad, and Ali Usman attended the meeting with King Charles. Two other players expressed their unwillingness to participate in the gathering, although the report did not disclose their identities. Nevertheless, the seventh player became the most prominent in this matter, completely refusing the visit to King Charles.
During this meeting, Pakistan captain Babar Azam presented King Charles with a signed baseball bat. Additionally, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, also presented him with a gift.
