DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin stated on Thursday that the Tamil Nadu government led by TVK has not introduced any new state programs, nor has it implemented or canceled initiatives launched by the previous DMK administration.
The opposition leader noted that 116 days have passed since the current government took office, and it has not presented a single program. Furthermore, he emphasized that the new administration neither supports nor cancels the schemes introduced by the DMK regime.
Udhayanidhi also commented on the past career of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, an actor. He stated that when the DMK governed the state of Tamil Nadu, it was in 'top gear,' but now, under TVK's leadership, it is operating in the 'back seat.' According to him, there is a discrepancy between promises and declared actions, and the TVK government is solely focused on promoting content in the 'Reels' format.
The former Deputy Chief Minister also accused the state of a 'law and order collapse' and demanded explanations from the Chief Minister, who also oversees the police.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Chief Minister Vijay made several new important announcements. Among them is the creation of a 'world-class' Olympic city in Chennai.
According to information from the Chief Minister's Office, the Olympic city will be developed by the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority and will include world-class sports arenas, modern equipment, a High-Performance Training Center, as well as specialized centers for sports science and medicine. It will also feature modern infrastructure, including housing for athletes and coaches.
Vijay also announced plans to create a specialized motorsports city in Chennai for hosting Formula 1-4 races. Additionally, he presented a project for a new integrated Legislative Assembly and Secretariat complex in Chennai, which will house all state government departments. This facility is planned to be built at a cost of approximately 1.2 thousand crore rupees on an area of over 20 lakh square feet, marking the relocation of the state government from the historic St. George Fort.
