Tata tests 'Garun' SUV with powerful features for future release

Tata Motors, the manufacturer of popular SUVs Nexon and Punch, recently released an updated version of the Punch. The company is currently preparing to launch the next generation of Nexon, which is reportedly expected next year. The company has begun testing this vehicle, and related videos are actively circulating on social media.

One such video, shot in Maharashtra, demonstrates the testing of the new Tata SUV. According to reports, the codename for this vehicle is Garun. Hidden videos indicate significant work done by Tata on the design of this model. There are suggestions that the new Tata Nexon might be built on the company's ATLAS platform, although the current model is based on the X1 platform, and the company may opt for a new platform for the next generation.

The ATLAS platform is designed for vehicles between 3.7 and 4.6 meters in length and is characterized by its flexibility, allowing Tata to use it for various powertrains. Since the SUV was completely camouflaged, it externally resembles the existing Nexon model. However, it is expected that the update will feature a more angular and vertical front fascia, giving the car a look similar to the Harrier and Safari. It will be equipped with LED daytime running lights and split headlights, and there may be significant changes to the front grille.

It is also anticipated that the rear window will become larger, and the vehicle will receive new wheels. The rear section might have a sloping roof design that smoothly transitions into a spoiler, and the trunk design may also undergo changes. The interior is expected to feature an updated dashboard and the installation of a large multimedia screen.

Regarding features, the upcoming Tata Nexon will offer functions such as climate control, leather upholstery, seat ventilation, panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, Level 2 ADAS system, 360-degree camera, and other options. The vehicle will be available in variants with petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric engines.
