A recent small randomized study conducted by Canadian scientists demonstrated that ketamine has greater efficacy in alleviating depressive symptoms in individuals suffering from treatment-resistant bipolar disorder, regardless of the type of this disorder.
According to data published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry, the use of ketamine proved to be more effective compared to the use of midazolam. An important aspect of the study was the absence of cases of mania, hypomania, psychosis, or suicide attempts in any of the studied groups.
