On September 2nd, an important meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust was held in Ayodhya, where a decision was made to include three new members in the Trust's composition. Among them is Madan Mohan Pandey, an advocate residing in Ayodhya. Following his appointment to the Trust, interest arose regarding who Madan Mohan Pandey is and what his connection was to the Ram Janmabhoomi case.
Madan Mohan Pandey, who grew up in the land of Ayodhya, is a senior lawyer. He played a key role in Ramlalla's legal team during the prolonged legal dispute concerning Ram Janmabhoomi and the Babri Masjid. During the proceedings in the Allahabad High Court, he presented historical documents, ancient books, archaeological evidence obtained from excavations, as well as witness testimonies in court.
In 2019, after the Supreme Court issued a historic verdict, Madan Mohan Pandey was specially recognized at a ceremony honoring lawyers who represented Ramlalla's case. Now, during the construction and management of the temple, the Ram Mandir Trust has expressed confidence in his previous legal work by appointing him as a Trust member.
In addition to Madan Mohan Pandey, Mahesh Bhagchandka and Dr. Nirmala Yadav were appointed as new Trust members at the September 2nd meeting. Mahesh Bhagchandka is from Delhi, and Dr. Nirmala Yadav is from Shikohabad.
These appointments were made to fill vacant positions. Two posts became available after the departure of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, and another position became vacant following the demise of Vimalendra Mohan.
The meeting also determined the duties of the Trust officials. Govind Deva Giri was appointed as the General Secretary, previously holding the position of Treasurer. In turn, Mahesh Bhagchandka received the post of Treasurer.
For the first time, the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) was created within the Trust. A panel of three candidates was formed for this role after interviewing sixteen people. This list included former Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra, Major General Sanjay Pratap Singh, and Shruti Bhardwaj. Ultimately, it was decided to appoint Jitendra Mishra as the CEO.
The appointment of Madan Mohan Pandey is significant because he long represented Ramlalla's interests in courts during the legal battle over the Ram Janmabhoomi case.
