The Center for Road Traffic Organization (CRTO) reported that on Sunday, September 6, traffic will be restricted on certain sections of Tashkent's streets from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM. These restrictions are due to the Tashkent International Half Marathon, which is held in honor of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
Sections where traffic will be restricted:
The closures will affect the following streets and avenues:
- Islam Karimov Street — from Furqat Street to Sharaf Rashidov Avenue;
- Sharaf Rashidov Avenue — from Afrosiyob Street to Islam Karimov Street;
- Afrosiyob Street — from Islam Karimov Street to Oybek Street;
- Oybek Street — from Afrosiyob Street to Nukus Street;
- Nukus Street — from Oybek Street to Abdulla Kadiri Street;
- Abdulla Kadiri Street — from Nukus Street to Hamidulla Aripov Street;
- Hamidulla Aripov Street — from Abdulla Kadiri Street to Mustaqillik Avenue;
- Mustaqillik Avenue — from Mirzo Ulugbek Avenue to Amir Temur Square;
- Streets around Amir Temur Square — up to Bukhara and Shahrisabz Streets;
- Alisher Navoi Street — from Shahrisabz Street to Furqat Street;
- Batyr Zakirov Street — from Alisher Navoi Street to Afrosiyob Street;
- A section of Ukchi Street adjacent to Batyr Zakirov Street.
The races are scheduled to include a 5-kilometer distance for the mass marathon and 21 kilometers for the half marathon. It is also reported that movement may be temporarily restricted on neighboring streets if necessary.
