Although the Hyundai Creta dominates the mid-size SUV market, the company is preparing to introduce another model. Initially, it was suggested that this would be a compact SUV competing with the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. However, recent leaks indicate that the company plans to launch a mid-size SUV.
This vehicle has been tested multiple times, and its launch could happen before the holiday season. A clear exterior of this SUV has now emerged. It will be cheaper than the Creta in Hyundai's portfolio, but its size will exceed 4 meters.
This car will be based on the Hyundai Bayon model intended for the global market. Numerous changes will be made for the Indian market regarding both features and the vehicle's appearance. What is special about the new Hyundai SUV is presented below.
In photos taken by spies, the car is completely covered in camouflage, but the general silhouette is clearly visible. This car resembles a crossover more than a traditional SUV, and it can be compared to the Fronx. The front end will feature a split headlight system with an LED light strip running across the entire width.
The front appearance will be similar to the Hyundai Verna, but with higher ground clearance. There will be a two-part air intake grille at the front, between which the license plate holder will be located. The mid-size SUV will have 'pull' type door handles in the standard configuration, functional roof rails, and flared wheel arches, giving it a resemblance to the Exter.
At the rear, there will be a thin LED strip, similar to the front LED sign. A luggage handle may be installed in the center of the trunk. As for the interior, the SUV might feature a dual-screen dashboard from Hyundai, including a 12.3-inch screen. A steering wheel with two-tone trim is also provided.
The car will be equipped with the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder atmospheric engine as the Hyundai Creta, capable of generating 115 hp. Options are available with a 6-speed manual transmission and CVT. The company may also offer a CNG variant; if so, it will be the first Hyundai car over 4 meters long with a CNG option.
