The Tashkent football club Pakhtakor has declined an offer from a French club to loan defender Muhammadrasul Abdumajidov with an option for a subsequent purchase.
According to the club's statement, no official transfer offer was received from the foreign team; the proposal was conveyed solely through the player's agent and did not meet the team's requirements.
Pakhtakor emphasized that it is open to considering favorable offers for its players, as each footballer has a specific market value. Another reason for the refusal was the closing of the transfer window in Uzbekistan.
Currently, the club is at an important stage of the season and does not have the capacity to quickly find a replacement for the defender. Furthermore, the club noted that the coaching staff sets ambitious goals every season, and this year is no exception. Decisions regarding player movements and transfers are made taking these goals and the interests of the team into account.
Pakhtakor is preparing to participate in the AFC Champions League Elite, where strong play is required from the team. In light of this, the club stated that its current priority is strengthening the squad, not weakening it.
The club added that the offer could have been reviewed in detail if it had arrived earlier. During the summer transfer period, the Tashkent club has already released two central defenders to other teams. The club will only be able to consider an offer for Abdumajidov during the winter transfer window.
