During the Janmashtami celebrations, people prepare various tasty and quickly made sweets for offerings to Lord Krishna. If you are tired of traditional barfis, you can try the famous pedas from Mathura and Agra. Today, a recipe for cashew peda is presented, which allows one to do without turning on a gas stove. This very simple recipe is easy to make at home.

Although cashews and pistachios are often forgotten for daily consumption, mixing them into peda form, which children will surely love, makes them an ideal choice for festivals. This homemade sweet, prepared this way, is pure and natural, and its taste is simply wonderful, while the preparation process is uncomplicated.

To begin, grind the cashews in a blender in pulse mode. The cashews should be ground not all at once, but in two batches to prevent oil release. The resulting cashew paste must be strained.

Next, add milk powder, powdered sugar, and ground cardamom to this paste. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Then, gradually add three tablespoons of milk and knead a soft doughy mass. If the mixture seems sticky, it can be kneaded by lightly greasing your hands with oil. If the dough is too dry, you can add another one to two tablespoons of milk.

The consistency of the finished dough should resemble roti dough. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Grind the pistachios in a blender and mix them with one of the dough portions. Add about one and a half tablespoons of milk to this portion and knead well to obtain a soft, pistachio-scented dough.

A small portion of the pistachio dough is formed into a ball, which is then completely coated with a portion of the cashew dough. With your hands, this ball is shaped into a smooth and dense peda. The remaining pedas are prepared similarly from the rest of the dough. The finished pedas are left for about 10 minutes to stabilize. After cutting, beautiful layers of cashew and pistachio can be seen inside.
