Iranian para-athletics star Amirhossein Alipour is striving to win another gold medal at the upcoming Asian Para Games in Nagoya in 2026. This goal is part of his plans to strengthen his position for qualification to the next Paralympic Games.
Alipour, who competes in the F11 shot put discipline, has already won four gold medals at major world and Asian competitions. He is currently preparing for his second participation in the Asian Para Games.
Speaking about his preparation for Nagoya, Alipour noted that he started his training program after participating in the World Championships in India. He continues to train both at national training camps and independently.
He reported that he has currently reached approximately 70–80 percent of his ideal level of physical fitness. Alipour expects that through the training program before traveling to Japan, he will reach a readiness level of 90–100 percent.
The Iranian thrower debuted at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou in 2022, where he won gold at the age of just 19. He was one of the youngest representatives of the Iranian delegation at that event.
Alipour emphasized that winning gold at such a young age at the Asian Para Games was a very significant and memorable experience for him. He stated his determination to repeat this achievement in Nagoya.
