Representatives of CIS Armed Forces Held Meeting on Communications Issues
Another meeting of the Committee for Coordination of the Armed Forces of CIS Member States took place in Minsk. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
Delegations from the ministries of defense and the Secretariat of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan participated in the event.
The meeting discussed the state and prospects for the development of a unified communications system for the armed forces of CIS countries. Issues concerning the improvement of legal and practical aspects of cooperation between communication management bodies were also reviewed.
Main attention was paid to ensuring that defense departments receive necessary communication services and support the stable operation of military systems.
Following the meeting, decisions were adopted regarding the development of cooperation in the field of military communications.
The meeting was chaired by Valery Tishkov, Chairman of the Committee for Coordination of the Armed Forces of CIS Member States and Chief of the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of Russia.
