Paleoanthropologists conducted a thorough study of the pelvis anatomy of a known hobbit found on the island of Flores, whose skeleton was preserved in excellent condition. Specialists analyzed the bone remains of this individual, comparing them with the remains of modern and ancient humans, as well as other hominids, chimpanzees, and gorillas.
During this research, scientists concluded that the manner of movement of the hobbits bore more resemblance to human gait than to australopithecine gait.
The results of this analysis were presented in a scientific publication published in the American Journal of Biological Anthropology.
