Changes have occurred in the rankings of Indian players in the latest ICC rating. India's captain Shubman Gill and star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah have seen a decline in their ratings.
Shubman Gill dropped two places in the batsmen ranking, settling at ninth place. Jasprit Bumrah moved from second to third in the bowlers ranking. On the other hand, Devdutt Padikkal made a significant leap, rising five positions to take 54th place.
During his visit to Sri Lanka, Gill scored only one half-century across three matches. Nevertheless, he remains the second highest-rated batsman among Indians, while Rishabh Pant retains seventh place, and Yashasvi Jaiswal holds 11th place.
The trip to Sri Lanka proved very successful for Padikkal. He scored 328 runs in two Tests, including two centuries, making him the most successful Indian player in that tour, which was reflected in his rating.
Jasprit Bumrah could not participate in the matches in Sri Lanka due to a knee injury. He currently ranks third in the bowlers' ranking, behind Mitchell Starc of Australia and Matt Henry of New Zealand.
Sonal Dinuha from Sri Lanka also showed impressive growth in the rankings. After a magnificent century against India in Colombo, he rose 29 positions to take 25th place in the batsmen ranking.
