SABC1 has announced the return of actress Vinnie Ntshaba, who will once again play her iconic role as Ketive Buthelezi in the series 'Generations – The Legacy'. The actress has returned to the set to resume playing this role.
Ntshaba plays Ketive Buthelezi, whom viewers remember as a shy, naive, and conservative village girl who managed to overcome difficulties to become a successful, vibrant, and confident entrepreneur and face of the La Chocolata brand.
Before her screen debut, scheduled for September 1, 2026, Ntshaba shared memories of her first appearance in 'Generations' at the age of 30, noting that she is now 51 years old. She wrote on Instagram: 'I was 30 years old in 2005 when I had the opportunity to participate in Generations; today I turned 51 after 21 years. I am returning to say that phrase I said in 2005... Saubona Bhut'Tau.'
She continued: 'What a divine moment... What a moment of full circle. I am not only celebrating my 51st birthday, but tonight you can watch my appearance on @generations_the_legacy at 8:30 PM.'
According to the broadcaster, Ketive returns to 'Generations: The Legacy' still ambitious and driven, but in a difficult life situation. The money she received after Haphela's death is almost exhausted, and Sarah has taken her child.
In desperation, trying to rebuild her life, Ketive turns to an old friend for help, but her plans quickly fall apart.
Commenting on her return, Ntshaba stated in a press release that 'returning to Generations is more than an honor; it feels like a moment of full circle. This series introduced me to television and became the foundation of a career that allowed me to immerse myself in many different worlds and play an incredible variety of characters.' She added that 'despite all these journeys, Ketive has always remained a very important part of me. She is a character deeply connected to my beginning, so when I received the call that there was another chapter in her story, as an actor and storyteller, I simply could not refuse.'
The actress expressed gratitude to the producers for trusting her with the role of Ketive once again and for creating the conditions for the development of her story. She noted that returning to this character was both nostalgic and exciting, and sincerely hopes that viewers will appreciate her return and enjoy this next chapter as much as she enjoyed returning to her world.
