Claro raises the price of the Claro TV+ Box streaming service by 14.30%

Claro has implemented a 14.30% adjustment in the price of its Claro TV+ Box streaming service. Consequently, the monthly cost increased from R$ 139.90 to R$ 159.90. The company confirmed, exclusively to Tecnoblog, that this increase took effect on August 26th.

The Claro TV Box functions as a content service that offers access to 120 live channels, in addition to including six major streaming platforms: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, Globoplay, and HBO Max. This access is provided through a decoder connected to the internet, representing a modern option to replace conventional pay television.

According to Claro, the new prices apply to customers subscribing to the service for the first time. For existing subscribers, the adjustment will be made according to the anniversary schedule of the respective plan.

This increase represents an additional annual expense of R$ 240. Despite this, Claro argues that the subscriber will obtain a 'relevant saving' in daily life, as, according to a statement requested by Tecnoblog, the individual acquisition of the listed content would cost R$ 268.48 monthly.

Claro also clarified that it may be more advantageous to opt for convergent packages (combo offers), where the service can be accessed via the app for R$ 99.90 or with the Box for R$ 109.90. These promotional prices are intended only for new customers. It is important to note, however, that Anatel has a resolution requiring operators to maintain the same conditions for long-time consumers.

In a note sent to Tecnoblog, Claro justified the change by stating that it 'reinforces its strategy to offer more convenience and a better relationship between content and price, especially for customers who concentrate their connectivity and entertainment services with the operator.'
