Renault has introduced the 2027 line of the Kwid with the goal of regaining its market position against growing Chinese competition. To achieve this, the automaker altered the front design, aligning it with the brand's global visual identity, and promoted an interior update, while also offering promotional prices with significant discounts upon launch.
Although the modifications did not affect the structural parts of the body, the new front bumper manages to transform the look of the Kwid. The two-level headlights were maintained, but the bumper and grille were completely redesigned, presenting a bolder style, a finish combining matte and glossy black, and the new Renault emblem, complemented by LED lighting on all versions. At the rear, the taillights incorporate new 'Crystal Lens' lenses and LED signature, and the rearview camera, when present, is now integrated into the Renault emblem.
The interior also received a complete renewal. The instrument panel was entirely revamped, with elements relocated and arranged more horizontally. In the higher-end versions, Techno and Outsider, the digital dashboard is placed in a frame that connects continuously with the 10.1-inch multimedia center, which supports wireless pairing with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In the entry-level Evolution version, the screen is replaced by a 1 DIN bay.
The engine remains unchanged, using the 1.0 three-cylinder flex SCe engine, which generates 71 hp and 10 kgfm of torque (ethanol) or 68 hp and 9.4 kgfm (gasoline), always coupled with a five-speed manual transmission. The 2027 Kwid is available in three configurations: Evolution, Techno, and Outsider, initially maintaining the 2026 line prices.
The specifications are as follows: Kwid Evolution (R$ 71,190) includes four airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, tire pressure monitoring, occupant belt alert, air conditioning, electric steering, trip computer, front electric windows and locks, rear parking sensor, start-stop, and LED daytime running lights with a 7-inch TFT digital panel. Kwid Techno (R$ 75,990) adds the 10.1-inch Media Evolution multimedia center with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rearview camera, two USB-C ports, electric mirrors with glossy black trim, steering wheel audio controls, key fob, LED signature taillights, body-colored door handles, and 14-inch steel wheels with bicolor hubcaps. Finally, the Kwid Outsider (R$ 84,990) contains all the items from the Techno, plus roof rails with differentiated finish, external protective moldings, 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, upholstered seats in fabric and synthetic leather, and a dusk sensor, which can optionally be painted in two tones.
Maserati history becomes a film with Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins
The trend of cinematic productions based on Italian automotive legends continues to be strong. Following the films 'Ferrari' and 'Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Machine', the trident brand, Maserati, will be portrayed in 'Maserati: The Brothers'. Although the official release date has not yet been confirmed, the first trailer for the film has already been released.
The production team consists of well-known names, with Andrea Iervolino responsible for production—the same person involved in 'Ferrari' and 'Lamborghini'—and Bobby Moresco directing, who is also the director of the bull brand film. Observers note that 'Ferrari' received a positive reception in the country, being reviewed by FlatOut upon release, which considered the family drama well-constructed, despite certain poetic liberties regarding the facts.
A notable aspect is the presence of major Hollywood names in the cast, including Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, and Jessica Alba. The plot focuses on the trajectory, struggles, and bond between the brothers Alfieri, Bindo, and Carlo Maserati. The initial trailer highlights the company's beginnings, illustrating the dynamic of the brand's formation among the brothers and their respective romances. Later, the preview focuses on the automotive racing of the era, mentioning Maserati's historic victories in the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940.
Expectations remain about whether the film will be a faithful tribute, as happened with 'Ferrari', or if it will lean towards fictional deviations, following the path of 'Lamborghini', which was negatively criticized. Monitoring will continue for the release date announcement.
Nissan Frontier leaves the lineup in Brazil
Nissan has officially ended the commercial sale of the medium pickup Frontier in Brazil, removing it from the brand's website catalog. The end of the Frontier was predictable, given that it stopped being manufactured in Argentina, where it was imported from, the previous month, and its exit from the national market was only a matter of time.
The manufacturer had considered keeping the Frontier in line, importing it from Mexico, where it actively competes for the top segment spot, but this plan was discarded, presumably due to costs. During its final phase, the Frontier was sold in Attack, Platinum, and Pro-4X versions, all equipped with the same 2.3-liter biturbo diesel engine, which delivers 190 hp and 45.9 kgfm of torque, coupled with a seven-speed automatic transmission with 4x4 traction. In recent months, as stock gradually decreased, sales records were minimal, registering only 34 registrations in Brazil in July 2026.
However, the absence will not be permanent, as the arrival of a successor is almost confirmed. This pickup, named Frontier Pro, is a renamed version of the Dongfeng Z9, which has been available in China since January 2025 and features a 410 hp and 81.5 kgf plug-in hybrid powertrain. This system combines a 1.5 turbo engine with an electric motor integrated into the gearbox, ensuring constant all-wheel drive.
New Toyota Hilux expected to arrive in Brazil sooner than expected
Although the launch of the new generation Toyota Hilux was expected for next year, plans have been accelerated. According to information accessed via the Autoblog Argentina website regarding Toyota's launch schedule in Latin America, the pickup is expected to debut in Brazil as early as 2026.
According to the portal, the new Hilux will begin selling in Argentina between November and December 2026, with the subsequent launch scheduled for Brazil. Toyota seeks to update the model quickly, as the pickup has faced competitive difficulties, having recently been overtaken by the Ford Ranger. Although the difference is small—3,402 units for the Ranger versus 3,365 for the Hilux—this was the first case in five years that Toyota lost market leadership.
Despite being called the 'new generation', the Hilux undergoes a profound restyling, maintaining the same platform, but with new front and rear sections, a completely reformed interior, and, crucially, new engine options. In addition to the current 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, producing 204 hp, available with a manual or automatic gearbox (both six-speed) and 4x4 traction, the new Hilux will introduce electrified versions.
The fully electric variant will reach the Argentine market first, initially intended for fleet operators in early 2027. Subsequently, the mild hybrid version will be made available to the general public in the middle of the year. A similar scenario is expected to occur in Brazil. Additionally, there is news of a monocoque model, designed specifically to compete with the Fiat Toro, Volkswagen Tukan, and BYD Mako. This new vehicle will be based on the Toyota Corolla Cross platform and produced in Brazil.
