Sony has announced the staging of a new State of Play event scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd. This presentation will feature news from games produced by PlayStation Studios and also from other developer studios, with a special focus on a detailed analysis of Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Subsequently, the company will promote State of Play Japan, a specific edition dedicated to titles created by Japanese studios and those from other Asian nations.
Both State of Play broadcasts will take place on September 3rd, starting at 10 am Brasília time. Sony has not yet specified the expected duration for each presentation. The public can follow the events through the official PlayStation channels available on YouTube and PlayStation's Twitch.
The agenda will begin with the conventional State of Play, presenting releases from proprietary and partner games. Immediately afterward, State of Play Japan will take over the broadcast, focusing on productions originating from Asia.
Among the confirmed highlights is Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which represents the third and final stage of the Square Enix remake series. This title received recent updates during Gamescom 2026, including more details about the combat and gameplay system of Vincent Valentine. Thus, State of Play promises to offer a deeper look into this RPG.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is expected to be released in the spring of 2027 in the Northern Hemisphere, available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. In addition to the Square Enix RPG, there are high expectations that the event will reveal other games and news for the entire PlayStation ecosystem. However, the complete list of titles participating in the broadcast has not yet been disclosed.
