According to data published in The Lancet, catheter ablation did not lead to an increase in the quality of life of patients suffering from atrial fibrillation six months after the intervention.
The study showed that quantitative changes in the quality of life assessment were statistically identical in both the treatment group and the group subjected to sham ablation.
