Starting September 1st, the maximum amount that can be paid for goods and services in cash in Uzbekistan has been significantly raised. The limit was increased more than sevenfold—from the previous 25 million to 176 million soums, which corresponds to 400 basic calculation units (BCU).
However, this restriction does not apply to goods and services for which payment is made exclusively in non-cash form. Such categories include utility services, fuel at gas stations, alcoholic and tobacco products, automobiles, real estate, as well as public services.
In addition, additional benefits have been introduced for businesses: companies will be able to receive a refund of part of the paid VAT and benefit from tax and customs incentives, regardless of their position in the Entrepreneur Sustainability Rating.
The state also assumes responsibility for reimbursing expenses related to the construction of external engineering and communication networks within the framework of investment projects. For such projects costing over 200 billion soums, this applies nationwide, while in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm, it applies to projects costing over 50 billion soums.
It was previously announced that starting November 1st, the prepayment amount for consumed resources for enterprises using automated electricity and natural gas metering systems will be reduced to 15%.
